The night was a success, and I took one last picture as we left the high school reunion. I busted out the big Fuji GFX 50S II — dormant during the event — opting to create snapshots with the less intimidating Fuji X100V.
Though we stayed to the end, it wasn’t particularly late. No after-party, however. We quickly split up to our respective accommodations. We planned one last group get-together for the next day.
Was this par for the course for middle-aged guys approaching 60? Perhaps. Though collectively, we tend to be nerds and might ultimately prefer quiet contemplation. It wasn’t always so, but I’m probably more on the outgoing scale within the group. Over the years, social photography, urban landscapes at night, SXSW, and perhaps Austin have made me more social.
