The last remaining reunion activity was an Alumni Day visit to the high school. Much of the building remained the same, but there were some noticeable improvements. High-tech LED lighting and new seating adorned the cafeteria, though I’m unaware the food has gotten any better. They upgraded the computer center and built new facilities like a robotics lab.
The library seems to be about the same, though my memory is a bit hazy. I met Frank here. He is my best friend, who I’ve mentioned a few times in this series. We both recalled the table where we first met in Freshman year 44 years ago.
I don’t see Frank very often now that I live in Austin. And, admittedly, I haven’t been the best about keeping up — Frank has initiated more phone calls. I regret that I haven’t been more diligent about the constant communication. We reconnected again and with our other high school friends. We all agreed that we need to be better about keeping in touch.
