We saw a glimpse of Brookfield Place in yesterday’s post, transforming from a monochromatic Oculus to a colorful glass-filled world. It’s not like stepping into the Land of Oz. But there’s more substantial architecture at Brookfield than yesterday’s post might suggest.
Previously called the World Financial Center, the office and shopping complex sits next to the World Trade Center redevelopment and is part of the Battery Park City neighborhood.
Out the giant glass window, you see the base of One World Trade Center and the sweeping white wings of the Oculus Center. The interconnected facilities tame the harshness of New York with safe separation from vehicles and the occasional brutal winter weather.
