Just west of Brookfield Place, out the doors near the Winter Garden, is a plaza by the river. The Battery Park City Esplanade and the North Cove Yacht Harbor form an attractive backdrop.
A fountain, pond, and a series of trees separate the seating area for a restaurant. That’s where I captured this slice of “countryside” in the middle of lower Manhattan.
Though not large, every bit of nature softens the hard edges of the city. As spaces go in New York, it was delightful. The perfect place for lunch for collar finance people who work in the area. At least for the few that are not working remotely.
