My wife and I attended a downtown luncheon to meet the new president of Trinity University. It was a delightful event for Trinity alums and friends at the upscale Fairmont Hotel. I took my Fujifilm 100V, just in case — my current carry-everywhere small-ish camera.
While the day was foggy and gloomy, the lunch was bright and festive. We had a delicious three-course meal, met friends, and heard inspiring words from the president.
Afterward, just before departing, I took this photo of downtown looking west. In the foreground, the Austin Convention Center connected to the Fairmont via an umbilical cord-like pedestrian bridge. A new Marriott Hotel with the red M is yet another hotel that rings the convention center.
