After my quick visit to Grand Central Station, I was off to the next destination. The subway is conveniently under Grand Central, where I took the four-train south.
I switched to street documentation mode again and whipped out the Fujifilm X100V. This scene is typical of non-rush hour subway travel — individuals in their isolated bubble.
The masks are courtesy of the COVID era in 2022. However, headphones to create acoustic isolation are not uncommon. Their brains merged with their communicators. Notice how each person has staked out their side of the pillar for support and separation. That’s New York for you. People are in close proximity but separated via technology and positioning.
