I’m starting a short series of Drink and Click portraits I’ve shot within the last half a year. We are starting where we left off — with Cindy — who I featured as my last Drink and Click subject back in late November.

This image is from last December from the Shine Saloon in downtown Austin. It was the first time I used the Fujifilm X-S10 and Fujifilm 50mm f1 combo, which I had just purchased back then. As I explained in this post, I “invested” in the Fuji 50mm f1.0 lens for the X-System to get faster focusing. Until then, I used my Fuji GFX, which produced magnificent images but was frustratingly slow for portrait shooting at night.

It took a little effort to get Cindy to pose casually. She often flips in to model-mode where she goes through her standard poses — I wanted something different.
