Sidewalk Art Gallery – Paris, France

Vendors lined the upper-level bank of the Seine River, something I’ve seen in movies and photographs. I created a quick street photograph for myself as we walked passed. I just happened to capture a pair of tourists admiring the artwork.

I can’t imagine Parians adorning these works of art on their walls — I’m sure these are for tourists. The famous “best of Paris” views are featured here. In retrospect, I could have used these as location references for my photography. They are optimized for idealized views and precisely framed. On the other hand, it wouldn’t be very original of me.

The beauty of street photography, on the other hand, is the unpredictable and unique nature of the images. Architectural images can look nearly identical from a given spot. However, every street photo differs from the street’s constant change.
