Central Spine Reverse View, Musée d’Orsay – Paris, France

This reverse view looking towards the front looks more grand than looking towards the back. Part of this may be due to shooting from the second floor and the focal point of the glass wall with the clock.

The warmer golden color adds to the richness. The automatic color balance of cameras can be deceptive because, short of using a color checker tool, it’s hard to know what is an accurate color. It was rainy and overcast initially, contributing to the cooler tones in my first photo of the interior. Later in the day, as the rains cleared, the interior appeared warmer. I even cooled this image slightly because it looked too warm.

The ample glass ceiling uplifts, and you get a good flavor of the structure’s train station roots. The adaptive reuse into an art museum gave new life and created a unique experience.
