As we left the plaza in front of the Musée d’Orsay, I noticed this bold sign and the grand architecture. I didn’t think much about it other than to create a balanced composition between the sign, architecture, and the people.
After returning home and visiting the Musée d’Orsay’s website, I noticed the same M ‘O graphics used online. I love graphical designs like this used for branding. The right design can set the mood and create a strong identity. I don’t know if another sign spelled out the entire name, but this simplified signage makes a statement.
While I’m no expert in branding or marketing, I appreciate the design process. Here on atmtx, I use the logo on the site and my online magazine, but also watermark my images with the same logo. It’s my crude attempt to create my online identity.
