Kids at Play, Paris Metro – Paris, France

We took the metro to our next tourist stop, which wasn’t far, but we tried to save time and energy. I entered the first car like I did before and saw this brilliant setup.

I’ve been to countless trains worldwide and never saw such a kid-friendly design. With no driver for this computer-controlled train, the entire front is open to passengers, complete with a panoramic glass front. Stickers of buttons, knobs, and graphical displays allow kids to play.

These kids were partaking, as you can see, freeing the parents from constant supervision. It’s a small but human-centered design for both children and adults. Bravo.
