I first saw a group of older gentlemen at the Arc de Triomphe performing a ceremony. I’m assuming they are French veterans, and I understand there is a tomb of an unknown soldier under the giant structure.
After my wife and I enjoyed our French sweets at a well-known Champs-Élysées Cafe, we ran into a larger group. They formed an unstructured parade walking southeast away from the Arc. I snapped this picture a block away.
I really did a walk-by shooting, snapping a few photos as we headed to our next destination. I wonder if they had a more significant event at a second location. Their numbers were considerable and growing from the ceremony 30 minutes earlier.
