Arc de Triomphe from the Champs-Élysées – Paris, France

A big creative challenge in making images in Paris is doing something unique. It’s such a well-photographed city. How do you create something new? I didn’t worry about that during the trip, and my blog coverage isn’t showing anything original. The only thing I can say as a content creator is that it’s my version, my observations, and my stories that I share here.

This picture of the Arc de Triomphe from the Champs-Élysées is a case in point. There must be millions of versions, and admittedly, this one isn’t even that great. It’s the best I can do while crossing the street and keeping up with my eager wife, looking to shop at a nearby boutique. However, even if I had the best equipment, set up on a tripod at blue hour, and captured perfect motion blurs of passing cars, the picture wouldn’t be any more original. That’s all been done before.

This picture was a considerably easier hand-held at a 120mm equivalent, designed to compress the scene and make the already monumental structure all that more impressive. You can even make out the little people silhouettes at the top.
