I took this snap at the Phoenix, where they got my vote for the best airport name — Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The pleasant lighting produced a colorful desert scene, albeit just a picture of an airport. The American Eagle in the foreground flies to smaller regional airports — that’s not the plane I took.
I was going to a busy airport at a major tourist destination. When booked initially, I was flying directly to my destination. Along the way, American Airlines must have canceled that flight and rebooked me through Phoenix. Unfortunate, since I was looking forward to a quick flight. One of the downsides of living in a smaller market like Austin is the limited number of direct flights.
Though frustrated, I didn’t bother rebooking. I got a free flight using a small number of frequent flyer miles. Although I was getting to my destination later than expected, I had plenty of time for solitary photography before meeting my friends flying in from around the country.
