Paris and Fountains – Las Vegas, Nevada

Go out the lobby of the Bellagio, through the Porte Cochere, and down the driveway, and you see this. I was off to my next hotel, and the Bellagio fountain show started. By chance, I got to create a picture of the fountains different from the usual shot from the sidewalk.

Most people, including me, take pictures and videos of the fountain show with the Bellagio Hotel in the background. You get the best view that way, and it makes sense. However, it’s a perspective you commonly see. Sometimes, stepping away from typical tourist shots is good to get a creative angle. And having the Paris Hotel complete with the Faux-Eiffel Tower makes for a noteworthy image.

I made another picture after the show since this vantage point worked well. The Eiffel Tower is across the street, but with the lake in the foreground, you don’t see much of the distracting traffic.

Also, I made the first picture a 1/2 of a second, which was really pushing the camera’s image stabilization. I did so to get a better blur of the fountains. I made the second photo at 1/3 of a second, which is much easier to achieve.
