Aria and City Center - Las Vegas, Nevada

Aria and City Center – Las Vegas, Nevada

I talked about the Shops at Crystals yesterday, a shopping mall in the City Center development on the Las Vegas Strip. As I continued south, I saw a panoramic view of the entire development.

In the center, we have the Aria, the curved building, and one of two hotels in the complex. The two structures on the right are Veer, a condominium.

As a pedestrian, I am disappointed with how City Center sits on the Vegas Strip. Walking in front of the complex on the sidewalk is not friendly, dealing with giant driveways that feel more like highways leading into the development. You can see them in this picture — I count nine lanes.

Once in the development, you can float above the vehicular traffic like I did here, crossing over via a pedestrian bridge. Many new hotel complexes are islands to themselves. However, walking in front of the Bellagio or Caesars Palace is not nearly as intimidating.
