Vegas Castle

Excalibur - Las Vegas, Nevada

Excalibur – Las Vegas, Nevada

I’m almost back to my hotel as I travel south on Las Vegas Blvd. The Excalibur is themed after knights and castles, which explains the architecture, one of those kitschy styles popular in Las Vegas. However, as we saw from the Aria and The Cosmopolitan, the newer developments are considerably more sophisticated.

On my walk north, passing through the Excalibur, I snapped a wide-angle of the interior but missed the castle since it was behind me and I was pulled in by New York-New York.

I’m not satisfied with the framing, however. I did the best I could from the pedestrian bridge by first shooting from further out and this one closer in. Perhaps there’s a better vantage point where the castle is in the center with a symmetrical balance of the hotel towers flanking either side. But I didn’t look hard for a different location. I was walking back as I made these pictures.
