Our TGV terminated at Basel, the first major Swiss city just over the border with France. Usually, there are direct TGV trains from Paris to Zurich, but construction modified the Sunday service. We knew about this ahead of time when we bought the tickets. We then took a regional Swiss train the rest of the way.
I liked Basel Station, though I didn’t see the head house since I stayed within the station, making a quick track change. This is the view going up the escalator. We arrived on track 6, and you can see our TGV on the right.
We switched to track 8 for our regional Swiss train. Since we didn’t have much time, I think we asked someone to verify that we were making the proper connection. Everything went smoothly, and we were soon headed east to Zurich.
I shot this to capture the leading lines, but I love the couple’s expression — a little unplanned photographic bonus.
