Here’s one more photo of the Limmat as I leave the old town section of Zurich. I zoomed to an 88mm equivalent to capture the kayak with the historic urban backdrop. The small kayak balances the composition, breaking up the vast river on the bottom left.
My coverage of the historic area centered around a couple blocks to the east and west of the river. It’s not a large area by modern standards, but it is packed with endless details. We spent two hours exploring, and while we got a rough lay of the land, it’s the kind of place that can support years of observation.
We then headed a few blocks further west, away from the river. The buildings were still historic but newer and larger. You can tell they were developed later in Zurich’s long history.
