Chur is the first small Swiss city I visited. I was blown away by the endless vistas surrounding this compact city. Everywhere I turned, I found visually compelling images to create.
You might recognize this church steeple. It’s from St. Martin’s, which I first introduced in my Photo Essay of Chur. I’m on the backside now, the other side from the downtown core.
I used a 75mm equivalent focal length that created enough compression to balance the foreground architecture with the background mountain. I spotted these scenes without any deep exploration as I walked the streets. Imagine if one had time to truly get to know the city. The photographic opportunities would be endless.
