My sister is the foodie in our family, and I left it up to her to find the restaurants in Switzerland. For the first night, we went to Schweitzerhof Kitchen in Hotel Schweitzerhof. It has a fantastic upscale but rustic interior, which I will feature tomorrow. Today, I wanted to show you this most unusual burger I chose.
The Beach Burger came with Asian slaw and grilled pineapple in addition to the usual burger fixings. I was unsure about the atypical toppings, so I got them on the side. I shouldn’t have doubted the restaurant because they tasted great together. The bun was black, called the charcoal bun. It tasted great, too, but it looked weird.
In reality, it was darker in person than shown here, so it was hard to see the details.
Switzerland is expensive, and I’m sure Zermatt is even more so. At 36 Swiss Francs, which converts to about $40 (In today’s US Dollars), it’s the most expensive burger I ever ate. It makes for a good picture and a good story.
