The alleyway I talked about yesterday and the lights at the end of it led me back to Rue de Rivoli, a central shopping street.

I shot with a slow shutter speed of 1/8 seconds to create higher-quality, lower ISO images and motion blur. The blurred motion gives the impression of movement and adds dynamism, perfect for the bustling street. The mix of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians gave a cosmopolitan vibe, especially with the colorful and bright store lights. Being at peak Blue Hour also works well.

There are certainly wider streets in Paris, but I like how this one is comparably narrow despite its location in a busy shopping area — it creates a denser appearance. In New York City, for example, where the streets are wider, the impact is lessened. Also, not having parked cars also gives a clean view of the street action.
