I found this image in my library and marveled at the beautiful balance of architectural details. I don’t know enough about architecture to identify the styles, but the three buildings have different facades. But taken together, they form a courtyard of sorts that looks unified.
In reality, this is not a courtyard but a slice of street architecture. The building in the center is the Palais Royal, which I talked about a couple of days ago. In front of this building is Rue de Valois, a regular city street. On the right is the Bistrot Valoris I featured yesterday.
On the left is a five-star hotel, Grand Hotel du Palais Royal. I had to look up their website out of upscale curiosity – kind of like watching the old TV show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. It’s undoubtedly more opulent than our hotel.
