Posing with the Sacre Coeur – Paris, France

Montmartre’s most popular tourist site is the Sacre Coeur, a Catholic Church and minor basilica. We were headed there among a few other stops in this neighborhood. Located on a summit that overlooks Paris, I got a view of it before climbing up to it later in our visit.

Instead of just a snap of the architecture, I was able to make a street photograph by including a tourist couple. Surprisingly, it’s the second most popular tourist destination in Paris after the Eiffel Tower.

I have vague recollections of visiting the site back in high school during my first trip to Paris. Most memorable back then was the active pickpockets that worked the area. Apparently, they are still around, but luckily, we didn’t experience anything negative other than some rain later in the day.
