Issue 69 of my fabulous photography magazine is hot off the digital presses (via email). I’m in test mode with the Leica D-Lux 8. I have more great imagery from this fantastic camera, which you can see in a large slide show, and why it may become my one-camera travel solution. I crossed over from image editing to image generation, and I’m slowly inching back into social media with big caveats. I often finish my downtown coverage with a picture of the Paramount Theater on Congress Avenue. It’s a great-looking visual and historic structure, to boot. However, I cheated a little this time. I shot all the downtown photos in this series on the same day except this one, though I did use the Leica D-Lux 8, which has been the focus of my recent coverage.

In fact, all the photos posted from December 24, 2024, to today were taken with the Leica D-Lux 8. You can see it’s a versatile camera. I shot today’s image at a 63mm equivalent and underexposed 1 stop. The post-processing easily lifted the shadows while I kept the details in the theater’s lights and neon.

I’m pausing the D-Lux 8-oriented posts for a short while as I feature events from a couple of months ago. However, as you can tell, I’m really enjoying my newest camera and have been using it frequently. Expect to see more D-Lux 8 coverage and tests shortly.
