Soft Glow of Campus Lighting

As evening approached, the soft glow of campus lighting added ambiance. Although I was a bit early for blue hour, the artificial lighting added the color that I craved. That’s what’s great about urban photography at night.

I walked a short distance on Guadalupe Street, known as The Drag, until I ducked back into the campus again. Given the smaller sensor of the Leica D-Lux 8, I was keen on pushing its use to see how well it works in the dark. Given its large aperture, I could shoot as the base ISO 200 with a 1/15 second shutter.

The glow from the modernist building on the right attracted my attention. I’d been to this place several times, and it was related to photography. More on that tomorrow.
