Cuban Produce Aisle – Havana, Cuba

I have no idea if they have conventional US-like supermarkets in Cuba. Perhaps in the suburbs, if they have suburbs. My view of Cuba is very limited. I saw the view from the airport to the city, and the rest of the time was spent in Old Havana.

I’ve seen multiple produce stands like this in the old city. It’s the Cuban produce Aisle. And I imagine the fruit and vegetables are very fresh. It’s the U.S. equivalent of a farmer’s market, I suppose. Expect, it’s not only on the weekends.

The breakfasts and dinners at the Casa were made from scratch, seemingly with fresh ingredients. I don’t know if the average Cuban can afford these kinds of foods. Still, it seemed almost luxurious compared to the factory food prevalent in America.
