We are finally approaching the waterfront, though obviously we don’t see any water yet. But it’s close.
I was taken by the architecture of this area. Was it once a waterfront promenade? The creamy white stone and the lush trees create a wonderful contrast.
You see it in Havana’s buildings. They are falling apart, but you know they were once something special. Same here. Look at those stone fence posts with the urn-like decorations and the street lamps. You don’t see these details in modern developments, where all the character would’ve been stripped away and lost due to efficient development budgeting.
