I’m near the Almacenes San Jose heading back to the Casa. This location is surprisingly close to this place I featured about a month ago. In fact, the tree in the picture might be the same in both pictures.
I used the Sony A7C, my secondary camera, with the TTArtisan 50mm f/2, which gives a different look from my optically superior Sony 24-70mm f/2.8. However, this budget manual focus lens has more character. The edges of the frame are soft and, objectively, not as good optically.
However, I like the way this image looks. I’ve used this lens for the last few posts, unlike the majority of this series, where I used the more expensive and capable Sony zoom. However, right now, a year and a half after taking these images in Cuba, I’m increasingly shooting with character-filled, imperfect lenses. This type of image is a precursor to my current work.
