I’ve been going to the downtown ROT Rally (The Republic of Texas Biker Rally) event for a number of years, usually to shoot the Biker Parade. But it’s also a wonderful event for street photography and the occasional portrait. I shot this image in 2015, before the main festivities. Cowboy Harley-Davidson, the local Harley dealer, is often out there, increasing their brand recognition.
I was experimenting with a backlit look with flare, for a change of pace. I asked these women to stand against the setting sun. The man to the left was an unintended bonus, which gives a half street photography / half portrait look. Shot with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II and the Olympus 17mm f1.8 lens.
Here are more of my ROT Rally posts, over the years.
