This is a followup to yesterday’s photo essay from the livestock show. I made these with the same Olympus PEN-F and 50mm equivalent lens to create that classic street photography look. I usually start shooting Rodeo Austin in the late afternoon and into the night, just past blue hour. That allows me to get several different looks within a few hours.
The people rich carnival is my favorite part and works well with a small setup. In the past, I also shot this with the Fujifilm X100S, which also works well for on the street shooting. Here’s a few from this year, before it got dark. Kids mostly, enjoying the carnival games.
