I never noticed this sign before, it’s probably fairly new. Located on University Avenue, right near the AT&T Executive Conference Center. This little stone area has a convenient view of the UT Tower, the symbol of the University. The platform is sized perfectly for a small group and makes for an ideal photo spot.
This is actually a faux blue hour image. In reality, it was too early for the optimal dusk shot, but the color temperature of the sign tricked the camera into this blue tone. I enhanced it with some post processing. I like the resulting cool background, which contrasts nicely against the bright and warm sign.
Surprisingly, I was able to shoot this with the base ISO 125, on my Canon G7X Mark II with 1/20 of a second at f4.5. Which means, the scene wasn’t actually very dark, but just looks that way because of the exposure. It makes for nice effect though. Something that most will not notice without the behind the scenes explanation.
