There is a a Bar/Cafe near the University of Texas campus that defies convention. In Austin, there is a marketing slogan called “Keep Austin Weird”. If you mix a healthy dose of this slogan, truck loads of antiques, junk, Christmas lights and left over signs of all kinds — in a cauldron with a magic until it super-novas — you get an idea of what Spider House is all about.
Do normal cities have places like this? Is this truly an Austin thing? I don’t know, maybe you can tell me.
It’s a favorite spot for Drink and Click and we’ve had our social photography gatherings there countless times. My last visit was late March, when I brought my usual stable of Olympus cameras for the portraits. I also brought my Canon G7X Mark II to capture the kitsch, as wide-angle Cinematics. Rather than droning on, trying to explain what is unexplainable, here are ten more Cinematics, for your viewing pleasure.
