I was back to my hotel on Orchard Road after a tour of Arab Street and Little India — ready to check out and head to the airport. I was back in the land of fancy stores and over-the-top living. A contrast to the more real-world ethnic neighborhoods that I visited just a short while before.

This street scene was the perfect exemplar of crazy rich Singapore. I’m explicitly referencing the movie, Crazy Rich Asians, of course — the hit romantic comedy that took place mostly in Singapore. You don’t see Lamborghinis everywhere, but I did see a few during my short three-day stay.

I love the reaction of both father and son. Yes, you see more fancy cars in Singapore that in Austin. But, they still turn heads.
