I’ve mentioned before that Texas, despite some preconceived notions, is not all flat desert. Particularly in Central Texas, where Austin is located. We have forests, sort of — most don’t feature towering trees.
I went to a local park, where I made some quiet images. I don’t shoot nature very often, but with a few attempts, I was starting to unlock the secret of composing in these wooded areas. This black and white might be my favorite so far that I made with the GM1.
After nearly a month of all Panasonic GM1 photos, I’m moving on. This smallest ever Micro 4/3 camera has found a place in my arsenal, especially when equipped with the collapsing 12-32mm kit lens. It has the best size to image quality ratio of any camera. It’s not a fast handling camera but makes an excellent companion for slow, deliberate photography.
