Most of my black and white downtown Austin photographs, so far, made with the Fujifilm GFX 50R are part of my A Changing Austin series. They are meant to document the rapidly evolving downtown scene in 2020 and aren’t particularly artistic or creative.
My intent for today’s photo is different.
I noticed curves during my downtown documentation and attempted some creativity. How many curves do you see? I see four. There is the curtain wall of the Fairmount Hotel, the skywalk, the wall on the left, and the branch.
I then did my best to balance these elements within the frame. Was I successful? Not sure, but the attempt was part of the fun, and part of the meditative aspect of photography.
