For my third and last mini-series on our recent snow in Austin, I zoom out to a park level view. I lived in NYC when I was young. However, I never experienced how beautiful snow can be in black and white. You see, back when I lived in colder climates, I wasn’t a photographer.
For a brief instant, I imagined myself in Central Park, taking pictures of the snow. Yes, this is Austin but stay with me here. If I pulled back and got to a clearing looking south. I would see the towers of Central Park South. Including the new ultra-tall and skinny ones on billionaire’s row.
Would I pick New York City over Austin? Nope. I love it here and wouldn’t trade my lifestyle. And, it’s more than a cost of living issue. I took this picture two days ago on Sunday. By tomorrow, we’ll be back to normal for a high in the mid-sixties. Thursday promises 70 degrees. I think the snow is particularly enticing because it’s so rare and fleeting. Austin is particularly enticing because of the quality of life.
