I made this picture of what looks like a nicely balanced scene. It’s also one of the few places in Disneyland that don’t have hoards of people in the frame. What I didn’t know is the history behind the place, which is considerable.
According to internet research, it’s called Tom Sawyer Island, and it will warrant a visit in the future. This post from a Disney blog gives details about it’s history and current attractions. Pirate’s Lair sounds like a quiet and stress-free spot for a usually crowded park.
You can see the island behind yesterday’s paddle wheeler. I shot that picture at the widest 27mm equivalent. For today’s image, I moved slightly and zoomed in to the maximum of 82.5mm equivalent.
