Who knows what the future will look like. However, it probably won’t look like this. This is from the waiting area of Space Mountain, an indoor space-themed rollercoaster. It opened in 1977, and Disney has renovated it several times since. I don’t know if this is the original design.
I think it looks modern for a 70s design, though in 2021, not so much. Culturally, I think the 60s and 70s had more optimistic science fiction. Idealistic notions of technology overcoming social ills, which is very Star Trek-like, dominated. These days, science fiction has a distinctly dystopian flavor.
Unlike most of my Disneyland photos, I made this with the Canon G7X Mark II compact camera. Definitely a capable camera though it pales in comparison to what the Fujifilm X-T10 can do.
