After the graduation ceremony and a few hours at my son’s house, we headed downtown. All the parents and other invited guests were meeting for an early dinner.
Downtown San Antonio is very different from Austin. It’s a significantly older city with classic architecture that is mostly non-existent in my hometown. Austin is the young upstart with lots of high-tech and a major high-rise construction boom. San Antonio is historic and traditional, with modest growth.
My wife drove, and I attempted snapshots through the window. I captured this random beautiful church. I zoomed into the sign to discover it’s St. Joseph Parish on East Commerce Street. I made a mental note that I need to go back to the central core for an extended urban photography session.
