I made several satisfying street photography compositions with the galleries at The Getty Center. Today’s is the last one. The use of walls to frame people reminds me of this picture from several days ago. However, this simplified composition is perhaps more powerful. Just two people in the frame.
You can see the ever-present smartphone too. One is checking status, and the other has it clasped, in hand, behind the back.
This is the same True Grit exhibit that I mentioned recently — in the print section. While I prefer photography, I also find the monochromatic prints compelling. In a way, they combine part of the aesthetic of black and white photography with handmade artistry.
