Alone on Waikiki Beach – Honolulu, Hawaii

Continuing with my morning stroll and documentation, here is something I found that looks unusual. Even Waikiki Beach can be empty if you go early enough.

This is the classic view of the beach, with its curved shoreline and the iconic Diamond Head in the distance. The modernist towers haven’t changed in a while. Much of the development took place years ago, in previous booms.

I intentionally found a single person as a foreground element. It added balance and interest. In reality, there were a few others on the beach. And, you can see the small dots of people in the distance. However, the image and the story sound more dramatic this way.
