The Bridge, USS Missouri – Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Being a Trekkie (Star Trek Fan), I knew the action on the ship happens on the bridge. That’s what I most wanted to see as I toured the inside of the USS Missouri. No James T. Kirk around, but I photographed what appears to be the command chair. And though this ship doesn’t have warp drive, it’s pretty powerful in its own right.

This is basically 1940s technology, perhaps updated through the years until the late 1980s. I wonder what a modern battleship is like. I would expect more computers and LCD screens. Though nothing like the made-up glitz of Hollywood productions.

Out the front windows, you can see the big guns. And beyond the ship, you can make out the Arizona Memorial, which is next on the list. Coverage to start in a few days.
