Exiting the Arizona Memorial – Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Wrapping up the last of the black and white Arizona Memorial coverage, we have this architectural gem. I’ll post one more about the Arizona tomorrow but in color.

This is the exit and entrance. The sailors instructed us to not take any pictures on the way in since it would impede the disembarkation. However, there was an opportunity for photography on the way out. I planned ahead.

Since I wanted a clean people-free photo. I made sure that we were at the back of the line. I took family snapshots and then took this picture. Then we went down the ramp and took another with my son. I glanced back at the boat a couple of times to verify we weren’t holding up the departure. It all worked well.
