A week ago, I posted a photo of the Maitai Crew. From a Hawaiian catamaran cruise that we took last year. For the last post of this candid portrait series. I feature some newlyweds from the same cruise.
If memory serves, this couple was from Alabama. I usually take concise notes on my iPhone to remember the details for the blog post. On the boat, I opted not to. Relying upon my flawed memory. I do remember for sure that they just got married. In fact, they mentioned that they left for Hawaii right after the wedding and had just arrived.
There are many telltale signs that this couple is new to Hawaii. Locals and people who have lived in Hawaii for a while are quick to pose with a friendly Shaka hand gesture. You’ll notice that in four of the more recent postings. I’m hardly a local Hawaiian, though I have visited several times. My Shaka is still slow on the draw. But I’m getting faster.
