I mentioned yesterday that I hobnobbed with SXSW attendees at the Hotel Van Zandt. Fun conversations about technology and the future. Along with drinks, it made for an entertaining mixer. Available in one area, demos of the latest VR (virtual reality) gear. I declined to participate.
Do you find this awkward? Being a nerd myself, I need as much help as possible to not look goofy. Strapping on gear like this and flailing around is not something that would enhance one’s social standing. If I were ever to get into VR, it would be private.
I have two sons, 19 and 23. They both play video games but have not gotten into VR. It’s still a rapidly improving technology that’s expensive to execute well. I wonder how many people will use it when the technology is “perfected” and inexpensive.
