I featured an irreverent message yesterday, and I figured out where it came from. It was from this place, according to my Google research. Called the Gbar Bar, it’s one of many drinking establishments on East 6th Street.
There is nothing exceptional about this snapshot. Other than several people, obviously, knew I was taking the picture. And while I usually like completely candid street photographs — I’m amused by their expressions. My favorite is the woman in the back with the dead-pan look sporting a peace sign.
All this happened within a few seconds. I wasn’t even in the bar. From the entrance, I snapped a picture with the Fujifilm X100V. Did they think I was an out-of-town SXSW tourist? Since none of these people have badges, they are probably local Austinites.
