A shift in perspective of a block with a new take created an image that merged two elements I like. A view of some new buildings on Congress Avenue, which I’ve featured before. Just last month I shot this picture at night.

Two years ago, I explored the delicate structure of bare leafless trees. I found them enticing especially shot in high-resolution with an urban backdrop. You can see the obvious combination of these elements. Something that I observed on the way to SXSW 2012.

Creating these quiet images before jumping into the street photography fray of SXSW is a great warmup. Like doing stretches before the big game. The stroll from my parking spot is a worthwhile transition — not to mention a healthy way to get exercise.
