With the SXSW 2022 conveniently wrapped up yesterday, I’m slipping in a 4th of July mini-series before branching off to another topic. With my sprawling coverage, I rarely feature a photograph posted the day I shot it. This was the quick and traditional 4th of July lunch I had today.
While far from fancy, quintessential Americana cooked by volunteers represents much more. It’s a time for the neighborhood to get together and appreciate what we have.
I cobbled together the most patriotic rendition I could muster, finding bits of red, white, and blue. Despite the harsh sun, the Fujifilm X100V nailed the exposure, requiring minimal post-processing. Though not text-book food photography, I’m satisfied with the snapshot.
