The Atlas Statue, set in a courtyard in front of the International Building, is part of the Rockefeller Center complex in midtown Manhattan, located on 5th Avenue, directly across from St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
It seems like this 45 feet tall statue, along with its surrounding towering structure, is a temple to capitalism proudly making its statement across from the Catholic cathedral.
Atlas is Greek Titan condemned to hold the heavens on his shoulder. This statue has several pop culture references as detailed on this Wikipedia page. Including an unexpected connection to a creepy Necromancer in the HBO Max series Raised by Wolves.
